about The Border Artists

Because the arts are integral to the cultural life of a community, the Border Artists are committed

to creating artwork of the highest standard and sharing their work and experience through

exhibition, educational events, and community support.

The Border Artists were conceived in the late 1980's as a way of increasing visibility and

recognition for the work of a group of artists in southern New Mexico.  Finding much success

individually as well as generally heightening interest in the arts of this region, the group

continued to add new members and organized as a non-profit artists' association in 1995.

Consisting of 20 active members and several signature members, the group includes painters, sculptors, photographers, metal and stone workers, printmakers, and mixed media artists. The members are from southern New Mexico and El Paso, Texas.  Membership is by invitation.
